
Stakeholder analysis involves identifying and analyzing the stakeholders that are likely to affect or be affected by a particular company activity, then planning to communicate and engaging with them. It is widely used in project management to develop engagement and cooperation between project team and project stakeholders. Other applications include conflict resolution, organizational transformation and change management.
This template includes one matrix and three worksheets. Start by identifying the stakeholders and determining their power and level of interest using the role and involvement worksheet. Then plot them on the power and interest matrix. Next, use the involvement planning worksheet to assess where stakeholders are now and where they need to be in terms of project involvement. Finally, use the communication action worksheet to plan how to communicate and engage with them.
This template comes in different file formats. The main one is a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation file that you can use and modify to suit your specific needs. You may, for example, add additional rows if have a larger number of stakeholders. You may also redesign and customize the worksheets to meet your company standards.
